European Researchers Night 2026
On September 24 and 25, 2026, the UEx celebrated European Researchers' Night with around a hundred activities across Badajoz, Cáceres, Mérida, and Plasencia. The event drew nearly 4,000 attendees across the four participating locations. More than 400 researchers were involved in delivering a program comprising 136 activities—including workshops, games, challenges, demonstrations, and experiments—bringing science and research closer to the public in an accessible and participatory way.
The UEx European Researchers' Night is part of the G9EU4RESEARCH project, funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Framework Programme (grant agreement No. 101305392). It also receives additional funding from the Regional Government of Extremadura through the Department of Industry, Energy, Science and Territory (via FUNDECYT-PCTEX and European Funds) and the Department of Education and Vocational Training.
