On September 29, 2008, the University of Extremadura inaugurated the 2008/2009 academic year at the Faculty of Business, Finance, and Tourism in Cáceres. The inaugural lecture, entitled "Melancholy," was delivered by Professor Isidoro Reguera Pérez, Chair of Philosophy.
