The University of Extremadura inaugurated the 1992/1993 academic year in the Paraninfo (Great Hall) of the Badajoz Campus. The inaugural lecture, "Anatomy in History: From the Pre-Scientific Period to the Guadalupe School," was delivered by Professor Ángel Robina Blanco-Morales, Chair of Anatomy and Embryology and Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
